Jamie Rice

Jamie Rice grew up in Newton, Massachusetts, and currently resides in Walpole, Massachusetts with his wife, Stephanie, his 12-year old son, Mark, and eight-year old twin daughters, Erika and Kayla. He played four seasons as a forward for the Babson Beavers from 1986 to 1990. Rice returned to Babson in 2004 after spending 14 years as an assistant coach at Colby College, Dartmouth College, Brown University, and Northeastern University. During his five-year tenure at Brown, he helped guide the Bears to a 1993 NCAA Tournament appearance and a 1995 Ivy League Championship.

A two-time conference coach of the year and Edward Jeremiah Award finalist, and 2007 New England Coach of the Year, Rice has led the program to four NCAA Tournament berths, including back-to-back national quarterfinal appearances in 2013 and 2014.

Mike Bavis

Mike Bavis, a native of Roslindale, Massachusetts currently resides in West Roxbury, with his wife, Kim, their son, Jack, and daughters, Ciara and Tyler. Bavis played four years at Boston University from 1989 to 1993. During that span, the Terriers won three Beanpots, a Hockey East title and played in the NCAA tournament all four years. As a sophomore during the 1990-91 season, Bavis helped the Terriers reach the national title game.

In both 1992 and 1993, he was voted New England's Top Defensive Forward Award by the New England Hockey Writers Association. In addition, both years he was voted the Bennett McInnis Award for team spirit.

In the 1989 NHL entry draft Bavis was drafted 245th overall by the Buffalo Sabres. He went on to play professional hockey in the Sabres organization for the Rochester Americans in the AHL for two seasons and then moved on to play for the South Carolina Stingrays in the ECHL for one season.

He then joined Global Hockey Consultants as an agent, and remained there two years before returning to his alma mater in 1998, where he coached for fifteen seasons from 1998 to 2013.

In addition, Bavis has been both a head coach or an assistant coach at USA Hockey Select 15, 16, and 17 festivals. In 2006, Bavis was selected to represent Hockey East on a committee whose responsibility was to create the framework and content for the new college hockey marketing website, PlayCollegeHockey.com.

Ian Moran

Ian Moran grew up in Acton, Massachusetts. He attended all catholic schools including Belmont Hill School. He then went to Boston College with on a full ice hockey scholarship. He was drafted 107th overall by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the 1990 NHL Entry Draft and made his debut for the Penguins during their playoff run in the 1993-94 NHL season

Moran spent the majority of his NHL career playing 8 years for the Pittsburgh Penguins where he played in 433 games, had 19 goals, and 44 assists earning a combined total of 63 points. During the 2002-03 season he was traded to Boston Bruins where he spent 3 years and later retired after spending time with both the Anaheim Ducks and New Jersey Devils organizations. Moran is currently the assistant athletic director at Catholic Memorial School in West Roxbury. 

 

 

Sean McCann

A native of North York, Ontario, Sean McCann graduated from Harvard where he was a standout defenseman from 1990 to 1994 and was Harvard’s 98th captain. McCann appeared in 120 games, recording 32 goals and 43 assists for a total of 75 points. He holds the school record for goals by a defenseman in a season (22).

He was the first pick overall in the 1994 NHL Supplemental Draft by the Florida Panthers and went on to a seven-year career in the IHL and AHL. In more than 500 professional games, McCann scored 117 goals and recorded 174 assists for a total of 291 points. He was the IHL Rookie of the Year with the Cincinnati Cyclones in 1994-95 and served as an assistant captain with three teams. Twice he earned an "Iron Man" award, in 1995-96 with the Greensboro Monarchs in the AHL and in his final season with the Houston Aeros in the IHL in 2000-01.

 

Dan Donato

Dan Donato, a native of Dedham, Massachusetts played three years at Boston University from 1991 to 1994 where he played in 80 games, had 8 goals, and had 28 assistants for a total of 36 points. Donato was very versatile and decided to go into education as a teacher and coach after a career in baseball with the New York Yankees and Tampa Bay Devil Rays. He taught History at Catholic Memorial in West Roxbury. Donato went on to be the Associate Director of Admissions at Salisbury School in Connecticut for eight years. He now is the Associate Director of Admissions for Dexter School, where he has been part of the admissions team since 2008. Donato also is the Head Coach of Hockey and Baseball at Dexter School.

 

JP McKersie

JP McKersie, a native of Madison, Wisconsin, was drafted 239th overall in the 1990 NHL Entry Draft as a goaltender by the Minnesota North Stars. He played one year of Junior hockey for the Dubuque Fighting Saints in the USHL during the 1990-91 season. McKersie went on to play four years at Boston University from 1991 to 1995. During his time there McKersie helped the team to be the 1994 NCAA Division One National Champion Runner Up and 1995 NCAA Division One National Champions. He was also the 1996 recipient of the Inaugural Humanitarian Award. McKersie went on to play one year of professional hockey for the South Carolina Stingrays in the ECHL in 1996-97.

He started his coaching career in 2000 where he spent ten years as the Head Goaltending Instructor of Puckmasters Norwood. From 2001 to 2003 McKersie was also the Boston College Women's Head Goalie Coach. In 2010-11 he spent the season as the Harvard University Women's Head Goalie Coach. Today McKersie is the Holy Cross Men's Head Goalie Coach, Mass Satellite Goaltending Instructor, USA Hockey Goaltending Certification Speaker, and Rob Barletta Hockey, Goaltending Director.
